A CHARITY devoted to providing for retired racing greyhounds is seeking to recruit more helpers.
The North Yorkshire branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust will be at Borrowby Show, near Thirsk, next Wednesday, to raise funds and find potential new owners for the animals in its care.
The charity will be at the show all day, encouraging people to offer homes.
Visitors will be able to speak with volunteers from the charity and meet some of the greyhounds in need of a new owner.
Spokesman Karen Fraser said: "Finding homes for greyhounds is an ongoing need and we are always looking for ways to dispel misconceptions about them.
"With the crowds expected to attend Borrowby Show, this should be an excellent opportunity.
"I hope that people will take the time to visit our stand and meet some of the greyhounds we are currently looking after."
