A North-East college has received a plaque from the National Blood Service - thanks to the efforts of a former pupil.
Peter Awadalla, of Nunthorpe, near Middlesbrough, who is now studying medicine in Leeds, set up the Blood Donation Scheme at Prior Pursglove College, Guisborough, east Cleveland, four years ago.
Now the college has received a Support Loyalty Plaque for its efforts.
He said: "I was really delighted to hear that the college has continued with the scheme and it has become a part of life at Prior."
Liz Grove, of the college, said: "We're delighted to get recognition for all the students who took part in the sessions over the years."
