THE TEESSIDE workforce of Lucite International has clocked up one million hours of work without a reportable injury.
The feat represents about 18 months of continuous safe working for the 330 workers at the Cassel site, in Billingham.
"Safety is our top priority, but we will only make further gains if we continue to be vigilant and insist on safe working practices,'' said site director Phil Bailey.
"We will use this achievement as a foundation for further improvements.''
The company is to record the milestone by donating £500 to the BBC Radio Cleveland Voices project, which works to generate greater community involvement in a number of initiatives at the Clarences community, near the Cassel works.
