A DOG with a placid nature and a name fit for a king is in need of a new home.
Zeus, an eight-month-old boxer-terrier cross, is living with a family in Newton Aycliffe, but they are about to move to rented accommodation which does not allow pets.
The dog's owners have asked the National Animal Sanctuary Support League to rehome Zeus, who has been vaccinated, but not neutered or microchipped.
Pauline Wilson, from the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, said: "Zeus is just one of those average, run-of-the-mill, lovely dogs who is going to add a new dimension to any family that loves dogs.
"He is used to children and is just a good, all-round nice dog."
Meanwhile, a recent appeal to find a home for a chocaholic dog prompted a huge response.
The league received more than 100 calls inquiring about Tess, an 18-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier, after an appeal in The Northern Echo.
Tess, who will perform a variety of tricks in exchange for a chocolate treat, has found a new home with an elderly couple, in Stanley, Crook.
Mrs Wilson said: "Tess caused such a sensation, it was unbelievable.
"We had over 100 calls, but we have found her a home within a lovely family who enjoy walking, so she is jumping about all over the countryside now."
Anyone wishing to give Zeus a home is asked to telephone Mrs Wilson on (01325) 321855 or 07748 268822.
