CHILDREN living with the aftermath of the world's worst nuclear accident have been treated in Consett.
Twenty six youngsters affected by the radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl disaster are spending a month in the region.
Three children celebrate their birthdays this week and the group was given a surprise party at fun venue Mister Twisters. Owners Scott and Victoria Hillary treated the youngsters to a disco and buffet. After a Russian rendition of Happy Birthday, each child also received a present.
