Two men have appeared in court charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist by dangerous driving.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how Derek Miller, 59, of Doxford Park, Sunderland, was killed when his moped was in collision with a Citroen Saxo and a Toyota in Sunderland, on April 18.
The cars were driven by Steven Hoggett, 19, of Hawkins Road, Murton, County Durham, and Csaba Nemeth, 22, of Rosedale Street, Sunderland. The pair were granted unconditional bail until September 9.
