A young woman has been rescued after getting into difficulties in the sea.
Redcar Lifeboat, east Cleveland, was called at 5.45pm on Wednesday after Humber Coastguard received a 999 call to say that the 19-year-old, from Middlesbrough, was in difficulties in the sea opposite the Mungle Jungle amusement arcade, in Coatham.
Soon after the lifeboat was launched, the woman was brought back to the shore by a man, also from Middlesbrough, thought to be her boyfriend.
She was given first aid treatment by coastguard auxiliaries before being taken to hospital for checks.
On the same day, children sparked a search after leaving their clothes on the beach near Zetland Park, Redcar.
Redcar and Humber lifeboats were called at 7.30pm to carry out a sea search while other lifeboat crew members and coastguard officers scoured the beach.
However, the children returned later to collect the clothes, which they had left earlier in the day.
A lifeboat spokesman said: "Although this was an innocent accident, the emergency services have to act as if persons are in danger and respond accordingly. The life-boat crew are happy that no one has been in difficulties."
