YOUNG Jordan Hunter is following in his father's footsteps by joining the family Punch and Judy business at the age of seven.
The youngster, who attends Whale Hill Primary School, in Eston, has already got his own theatre and full set of puppets to perfect his act.
He is going to spend the summer preparing before putting on shows for his classmates and then he will entertain the whole school in September.
"I already do shows using other puppets for my friends at my house because it is fun," said Jordan.
None of his friends have got their own Punch and Judy sets, so some of them might be a little bit jealous, but they enjoy watching, he said.
"It is definitely something I would like to do when I am bigger."
Jordan has already started learning the craft of entertaining from watching his father Andrew's traditional puppet show all over the country.
He built Jordan his own booth and made the seven wooden puppets so he can help out when he is older.
Mr Hunter said: "He first showed an interest when he was about five so I thought it is something I should be encouraging. He is not shy after seeing me do it so many times and knows what to do.
"Sometimes he just makes things up as he goes along."
"It is fairly hard when you start to get all the different puppets on the right hand and do all the various voices but he will get the hang of it."
