AN inquest has been opened into the death of a retired civil servant in a Teesside care home.

Middlesbrough-born Thomas Wells, 83, died in Castle Dene Retirement Home on July 19.

The inquest was adjourned by Anthony Eastwood, assistant deputy coroner for Teesside.

PUBLIC MEETINGS: Two public meetings are to be held in Hartlepool next week to give people a chance to help shape the future of library services in the town. They will be held in the community room at the Central Library, in York Road, on Thursday, from 10am to noon and from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
