A SUCCESSFUL environmental campaign, which aims to make Hartlepool a cleaner and more attractive place, is to be relaunched and expanded following a bid for European money.
The Pride in Hartlepool initiative, which was originally launched in early 2000, is to receive a European Regional Development Fund grant aid totalling £170,218 over the next three years.
The total cost of the project is £342,089, with Hartlepool Borough Council providing matched funding.
The money will allow a range of environmental initiatives to continue, and at the same time, enable a member of staff, a community environmental action officer, to be appointed.
