THE work of a self-taught North-East artist has gone on display.
The Long Gallery, at Seaton Holme, Hall Walks, Easington, east Durham, is hosting an exhibition of Stuart Wright's work until Tuesday, August 26.
Mr Wright, a member of Hartlepool Art Club, who works mostly in oils, mixed media and pencil.
His subjects include local land and seascapes, still-life and animal portraits.
A spokeswoman for the gallery said: "Inspiration for Stuart's work comes from atmosphere. He interprets light and shade and turns it into his own, sometimes abstract, pieces.
"His work has been shown all over the North-East, including Christ Church Art Gallery, in Hartlepool, Billingham Art Gallery, Green Dragon Yard, at Stockton, and Northumbria University."
Admission to Seaton Holme is free and the exhibition is open weekdays from 9am to 4pm and between 11am and 4pm at weekends.
The paintings on display are for sale.
