POLICE are likely to be given more powers to deal with alcohol-induced behaviour in three parts of Hambleton.
District council members are being asked to agree to an order that will have an affect on Bullamoor Park and the Applegarth in Northallerton and the High Green area of Great Ayton.
The order will allow police officers to take alcohol from anyone caught drinking it in those areas.
Anyone who does not comply could face fines of up to £500.
The move has been fully supported by Northallerton Town Council and Great Ayton Parish Council.
If members of the licensing and environmental protection committee tomorrow approve to the orders being made then they will take effect once they have been advertised and appropriate signs put up.
