City of Durham Under-15 Cup

Murton had five wickets to spare at the end of a low scoring tie. Batting first, Hylton managed only 42 as Bobby Elliott claimed two for 11 in four overs, Gary Logan took two for 12 and Karl Rich two for six.

In reply, Murton posted 41 for five as Bewick picked up three for 12 in four overs and Curry two for three from his two overs.

Subaru National Club Championship

Ashington won the Northumberland final of the U13 competition defeating Morpeth by a handsome 55 runs. Grant and Wood both scored 30 before they had to retire under the rules and Walton also carried his bat for 21 as Ashington reached 120 without losing a wicket. Morpeth's reply ended on 75 for seven with Watson taking two wickets for 19 runs and Cairns two at a cost of just one run.

Ian Appleby Cup

South Northumberland went through into the next round of the competition with a six wickets victory over Benwell and Walbottle. Fintan hit an unbeaten 57 out of the Benwell and Walbottle and total of 104 for six with three of the wickets falling to Beaney for just 13 runs. When they replied South North lost just four wickets and were indebted to Walton for his innings of 30.

Lingarde Cup

Tynemouth reach the semi-finals defeating South Northumberland by nine wickets. When the visitors batted first, their 20 overs produced a total of 80 for seven as Michael Phillips too two for 28 and Ian Purdy two for 17, the pair each bowling five overs.

Replying, Tynemouth lost just one wicket and had three overs to spare reaching the modest target. Purdy was also in form with the bat hitting five boundaries in an unbeaten 41 and Stephen Scott also carried his bat for 30, with three fours.

Chester-le-Street

Chester-le-Street scored 164 for 6 with Chris Hesselwood top scoring with 45. Anthony Mcmahon 22 not out and Andrew Summers 21 gave valuable assistance. S Smith took 3 for 12 from his four overs and was the pick of the South Hetton bowlers.

In reply South Hetton struggled to a score of 79 for 7 due to tight bowling in which the wickets were spread around the Chester attack. This result leaves Chester le Street in an excellent position to defend their under-13 title.

Bob Pendlebury Cup

Bishop Auckland progressed to the next stage of the U15 competition defeating Crook Town by ten wickets.

Batting first Crook ended on 63 for three which included 20 by Lee Formosa. Bishops had no difficulty meeting the target as John Barker scored 35 and Cowling 21.

Esh Winning also made it into the next round defeating Brandon by nine wickets. Faced with a target of 62 they were indebted to Stuart Hall who found the boundary eight times carrying his bat for 45. When Brandon batted first they totalled just 61 for nine and their top scorer was Tom Orton with an undefeated 16. Andrew Wilson claimed three for 11, Natalie Howarth returned three for 19 and Stuart Hall two for eight the three bowlers all sending down five overs.
