Morag McDonnell had her first race since running for England in Cork over 3,000m last week.
The English Teacher lead the Tyneside league 1500m race from start to finish gradually pulling away from Chester-le-Street teammate Ruth Brown. The win was even more pleasing than normal as she ran a personal best time of 3 minutes 34 seconds for the metric mile. Morag said: "I am so pleased with my season I have set a personal best nearly every time I have run."
Ruth Brown's second illustrated the strength of the Senior Womens team who took the National Cross Country earlier this year.
