Cleveland County Women's Bowling Association played their final divisional matches of the year with some success.
Both teams won well against Northumberland; the Donald Steward 146-128 (18 points) and the Silver Jubilee Vase 130-125 (16 points).
The Donald Steward team also beat Durham County 135-113 (18 points) to give themselves a great chance of progressing to the national play-offs. The only team able to stop Cleveland is Nottinghamshire who play this week.
The County ladies and men's competitions finals days were held last weekend.
Under clear skies and in typically excellent Smiths Dock conditions there were many fine matches with several results going to the wire. The winners of these competitions will represent the county in the national finals at Skegness week commencing August 18. Results were as follows:
