TWO Teesdale landlords are toasting their success in an award scheme to help drinkers find a good pint.
Tony Leete, who runs the Ancient Unicorn, in Barnard Castle, and Richard Robinson, from the Red Lion, in Cotherstone, which both serve Jennings beer, have been given a Cask Marque to display.
The pubs, which are both free houses, have been checked by independent assessors who judged the temperature, appearance and taste of their cask ales.
If the landlords leave their pubs, they can take the awards with them.
Andrea Booth, of Jennings, said: "The public can be sure when they see the Cask Marque shield displayed on the outside of a pub, it means that the ale on offer inside is served to the highest quality."
