A HEALTH website for people in Darlington has had nearly 8,000 visits in its first week online.

The Darlington Primary Care Trust site at www.darlingtonpct.nhs.uk features news and information on health services in the town. Andrea Jones, from the trust, said: "The site has proved more popular than we could ever have hoped for."

HERITAGE DAYS: A picture published in The Northern Echo on July 17 to promote local heritage days in Darlington showed Councillor David Lyonette on the parapet of St Cuthbert's Church. The Reverend Robert Williamson, from the church, has asked us to point out that visitors will not be allowed on the parapet on the heritage open days, from September 12 to 15.

PAPERS STOLEN: A blue canvas bag containing work papers was taken by thieves from a Peugeot 106 parked at the junction of Corporation Road and Mowden Terrace, Darlington, on Thursday. Information can be passed to police on (01325) 742124.
