YOUNG people are now able to sign up to a new scheme giving them access to free condoms.
The C-card scheme has been set up by the Derwentside and Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trusts to meet the health needs of young people in their areas.
The aim is to help them access condoms, advice and other forms of contraception.
It is part of a Government initiative aimed at reducing the number of teenage pregnancies and the growing number of sexually transmitted diseases.
