Army cadet girls teams competing in national Army Cadet Force championships have gone for gold winning medals in hockey and tug-of-war competitions.
A girls team of Cleveland Army Cadets showed real determination when representing the North-East in the tug-of-war competition at Thorney Island, Hampshire. They came away champions for the second year running. Cleveland boys were third.
North-East girl cadets also won gold at the hockey championships in North Shields.
Major Phil Hyde of the North East Region Sports Board, said: "Well done to all our teams.
"It once again shows what can be achieved and keeps the North-East on the lips of all in the Army Cadet Force and the regular Army."
