GOLF-mad teenager James Paterson will be packing his bags next month to go on the trip of a lifetime.
The 17-year-old heart transplant patient from Bedale, North Yorkshire is to be taken to the US by the Make-a-Wish Foundation UK, to watch the USPGA championship.
The trip was announced by celebrity auctioneer Bobby Davro at the gala dinner for the Mobile Cup, at Stoke Park Gold Club in Buckinghamshire.
The Mobile Cup is organised by the mobile phone industry and generates funds for an annual chosen charity, which this year was the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
James, who has a handicap of only 9.5, plays two or three times a week at his local club, where he was junior captain last year.
He was also presented with a Srixon golf bag, clubs and putters from the Mobile Cup team and a golfing book signed by famous golfers.
