TRAININg has been offered to encourage people to take an interest in the art of dry-stone wall building in the Yorkshire Dales.
The taster training day is being run on Sunday, August 3, in Nidderdale and volunteers will be able to try some of the techniques.
For those who would like to go further, a course of practical sessions is being held in the early autumn when participants will learn more about the history and significance of dry-stone walls.
Both events will be free of charge, but participants will be expected to work on practical projects within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Ranger Barry Slaymaker said: "In return for the free training, we ask that volunteers offer a couple of days a month to work alongside their teammates on projects organised by the AONB.
"The taster day gives people a chance to try it out before committing themselves to a full course."
