MODEL boat enthusiasts displayed their collection of hand-made crafts in a temporary lake at a visitor centre at the weekend.
The lawn, in front of Seaton Holme, Easington Village, was filled with a 15-metre square boating lake on Saturday.
It was put up on the day by Paul Robinson and other members of Peterlee Model Boat Club, and filled with the help of Northumbrian Water, using a standpipe on the footpath near the centre. The lake provided the setting for displays of a flotilla of about 25 boats, all made by Paul and other club members.
These included a battleship, a tug, a fishing boat, a German submarine and an oil rig support vessel. All were fitted with rechargeable batteries and were operated by remote control.
The craft which were not sailing around the water could be viewed in the visitor centre.
