Yum Restaurants International has applied for planning permission to build a drive-through restaurant on the Darlington Retail Park, in Yarm Road.
Darlington Borough Council officers have recommended that permission is granted at a planning committee meeting on Wednesday.
HOME OPPOSITION: Four neighbours and Sadberge Parish Council have objected to plans submitted to Darlington Borough Council to convert a former piggery in Middleton Road, Sadberge, into a single-storey house.
STRATEGIC TALKS: Wear Valley Local Strategic Partnership will meet today, at 6pm, in the New Business Centre, Bishop Auckland.
TROLLEY TOKENS: The charity Child Victim Support has designed a keyring that will allow shoppers to get free trolleys when shopping at the supermarket.They are on sale at Asda in Spennymoor.
TA CHI: Tai chi classes are held in the Jubilee Fields Centre, Shildon, every Sunday and Wednesday, from 6pm to 7.30pm. An extra class is held on Wednesdays, between 7.30pm and 9pm.
PARISH COUNCIL: Eldon Parish Council will meet tomorrow, at 7pm, in St Mark's Church, Eldon.
GIVE BLOOD: A session for blood donors is being held in the Teesdale Sports Centre, Barnard Castle, on Thursday, from 2pm to 7pm.
PLANS CONSIDERED: The next meeting of Sedgefield Borough Council's development control committee will be held tomorrow, at 10am, at the council offices in Green Lane, Spennymoor.
HOSPICE AID: The Manor House Hotel and Country Club, West Auckland, is holding a family fun day on Sunday, August 17, from 11am to 4pm. All proceeds go to the Butterwick Hospice.
THIRTY YEARS: Stanhope open-air swimming pool is celebrating its 30th birthday with a pool party on Friday, August 29. There will be free swimming from 3pm to 6pm, followed by a party in the car park.
FUN DAY: Cockfield Community Association is holding a fun day on Saturday, August 23, from 10am to 3pm. Money raised will help to provide activities for young people in the area.
GARAGE DEMOLITION: Plans to demolish a garage and outbuildings in Hurworth, near Darlington, are likely to be approved by Darlington borough councillors on Wednesday. Newton Moor Construction wants to demolish the buildings opposite All Saints' Church. Hurworth Parish Council has objected.
