A MARKET day-themed floral display picked up an award at a top flower show.
The team of gardeners from Darlington Borough Council won a silver award for their display, at this year's Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show, held at Tatton Park in Cheshire.
It was the first time the council had sent an exhibit to the show.
The council's nursery also supplied plants for the medal-winning displays from Chester-le-Street, Brightlingsea, Scarborough and the London borough of Bromley.
Councillor Eleanor Lister, the council's cabinet member for leisure, said: "It is another fine achievement for our gardeners to win medals in competition against the best in the world of horticulture."
