A birthday party was held for an out-of-school and holiday care club in Hartlepool.
Oscars, which is now based at the Boys Welfare Youth Centre, in Wiltshire Way, celebrated its tenth birthday with a party for youngsters, parents and staff.
Oscars started in July, 1993 at the Avondale Centre, in Dyke House, with just three children. Since then, the Hartlepool Borough Council venture has grown to provide out-of-school and holiday care for 56 children.
Oscars was set up with the help of City Challenge funding and was the first scheme of its kind in the town. There are now three other similar schemes which between them provide a further 64 child-care places.
