TEENAGERS have given a bungalow a four-month makeover through a college and council learning scheme.
The team of 14 to 16-year-olds learned painting and decorating techniques in an Impact programme linking Bishop Auckland College and Wear Valley District Council.
Kathleen Wright, a council housing officer, said: "We are delighted to be involved in helping young people apply the skills that they have learnt for the benefit of the local community."
Mark Spensley, college Impact social worker, said: "The practical skills the students have developed as part of the Impact scheme have been put to good use on what was a rundown bungalow making it fit for people to live in once again."
