ONE TO WATCH: Bird watchers are being offered the chance to observe the species inhabiting the wetland areas around the Teesmouth Estuary. A Watch The Birdy event has been organised by Hartlepool Borough Council's countryside wardens for Sunday, from 9.30am to 1pm. Kevin Spindloe, of the town's Summerhill Bird Club, will be present to help identify any waders, ducks and terns on and around the Seaton channel. To take part, book on (01429) 853325.

TENNIS COURTS: Hartlepool Borough Council have received a planning application from the Manor College of Technology to build tennis and netball courts and a path.

Advocacy drop-in: Linda Parker, of the Advocacy and Information Foundation, is offering a drop-in advocacy service at the People's Centre, Raby Road, Hartlepool every Tuesday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. ORGANISED WALKS: The Cleveland Group of the Ramblers Association organise afternoon walks every Sunday at 2pm. Anyone who wants to join the association, which helps to maintain and improve the footpath network, is asked to contact Alan Patterson on (01642) 474864.

PARK CONCERT: The Hartlepool (Youth and Community) Silver Band will play in Hartlepool's Ward Jackson Park on Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm. It is part of the town's series of summer Sunday brass concerts.
