A VILLAGE hall is to receive a revamp after a vital cash grant from Hambleton District Council.
The second phase of an upgrade at the hall in Faceby is expected to cost £41,468.
But the council cabinet deferred a decision on grant aid in April, pending confirmation of the funding package and planning consent.
The latest cabinet meeting was told that the rest of the funding package was now in place and planning consent was imminent.
Members were told that without funding from Hambleton it would not be possible for the project to go ahead.
It was agreed to make a grant of up to a maximum of £6,800.
Cabinet members also decided to transfer money from the overall leisure grants capital budget to produce an additional £12,326 so that applications for grant aid from five additional village halls at Kirby Sigston, Sutton-on-the-Forest, Brandsby, Huby and Alne could all be met.
The cabinet heard that so many village halls had already applied for help that the total budget of £40,000 originally allocated was already fully committed.
