BOTTLED water will be swapped for traditional cups of tea when Yorkshire Day is celebrated on Friday.

Employees at Harrogate Spa Water will be taking part in Yorkshire's Biggest Tea Break in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The charity is urging employees at businesses across the region to take part in the tea- break, at 11am on Friday, by enjoying a cup of tea and donating £1. Taylor's Yorkshire Tea has provided 20,000 teabags and anyone who wants to take part can contact Yorkshire Cancer Research on (01423) 501269 or log on to www.teabreak.org.uk.

Fundraising chief Sally Crerar said: "Yorkshire Day offers a great opportunity to remind everyone to think of Yorkshire Cancer Research - and the support of two names like Yorkshire Tea and Harrogate Spa Water really helps us to get the message across."

Harrogate Spa Water has 23 employees at its Harlow Moor Road bottling plant and is one of many companies taking part in the tea-break fundraiser

* Yorkshire Cancer Research was founded in 1925 and is now the largest regional medical research charity in the UK. It is the fourth largest cancer research charity in the UK and spends about £4m every year on cancer research in Yorkshire.
