A FAMILY fun day to raise money for an air ambulance will take place in autumn.
The event, at Hummers-knott School and Language College, Darlington, on Sunday, September 14, from noon until 6pm, has been organised by the town's Rotary Club.
It will feature a tug-of-war contest, dancing, live music from pupils of Hummersknott and Carmel Technology College, face-painting, a fairground and a barbecue.
The Teesside Airport-based Great North Air Ambulance will be there, as well as a second helicopter, which visitors can win the chance to fly in.
All the emergency services, plus the Army, Navy and Air Force, will attend.
The air ambulance recently launched a £2.5m appeal for a helicopter that will comply with new European Union regulations.
Entry is £3 for adults and £2 for children over three. Free parking for about 600 cars will be available.
