CARAVAN retailer Barrons of Burtree has boosted turnover by half.
Figures released yesterday by the Darlington firm showed a 50 per cent increase in the first six months of the year.
Nick Markl, managing director, attributed the rise to the firm offering a one-stop shop for leisure vehicles and accessories.
He said: "We have now reached capacity in both our sales and service areas and we are looking to expand if a suitable opportunity presents itself."
"2004 will present a greater challenge due to stock shortages in the industry, and we are very aware that this time next year, the outlook may be altogether different. We are confident, however, that Barrons will be able to adapt to deal with the situation."
Motorhome sales are up 79 per cent on last year following the introduction of new franchises.
