PARENTS and children were rewarded for their efforts after learning computer skills at an after-school club in Darlington.
The ten-week programme for adults and children was designed and run at Harrowgate Hill Junior School by Darlington College of Technology tutor Diana Lawson.
Pupils were taught how to work in Word, create a Power Point presentation and use various art packages. They received college certificates after finishing the course.
Samantha Catt attended with her daughter Hollie, seven, a pupil at Harrowgate Hill Infant School, who will move to the juniors in September.
She said: "Hollie knows more than I do and can remember a lot better. Still, I have learnt many things I didn't know."
Sue Campbell, the college's external relations director, said: "For many people, coming into the college isn't always the right thing to do.
"People like to access their learning in all sorts of places and we are expanding our community courses all the time."
