THE jury in the case of a dancefloor death at a nightclub were sent home for the night after failing to reach verdicts yesterday.
Steelworker Robert Aspery, 55, is charged with the manslaughter of Mark Thirsk, 40, by punching him at De Niro's nightclub, Middlesbrough, on December 6, last year.
Mr Aspery, of Sunnyside, Coulby Newham, Teesside, said he was defending himself after Mr Thirsk swung a punch at him.
The jury will return to Teesside Crown Court today.
