POLICE are hunting an attacker who sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl in a fast food restaurant.
The child was attacked by a teenage boy as she was having a burger with her mother at McDonald's, in King Street, South Shields, South Tyneside.
The woman called police at about 2.30pm on Wednesday to say her daughter may have been assaulted by the boy ten minutes earlier.
Officers arrived a few minutes later, but the suspect was nowhere to be seen.
Yesterday, a senior detective said the girl still had to be interviewed by officers.
