LITTER louts are being warned fly-tipping will not be tolerated after a Teesside man was fined for dumping packaging on a travellers' site.
Middlesbrough Council officials caught the man unloading rubbish from a house refurbishment at the site in Metz Bridge Road.
He was given a £50 fixed penalty and made to take the rubbish to the authorised site at South Bank, where he would have to pay for its disposal.
Council enforcement officers acted after receiving a tip-off from a resident at the travellers' site
Dr Anthony Luke, from the council's community protection service, said: "Thanks to the vigilance of the travelling community we have been able to stop this indiscriminate fly- tipping on their neighbourhood.
"The spot fine serves as a warning we will not tolerate any fly-tipping and will take a robust approach to offenders."
