TRAINEE solicitors swapped their sharp suits and briefcases for wheelbarrows and wellies as part of a garden landscaping project to benefit a school.
Fifteen trainees from Ward Hadaway, in Newcastle, rolled their sleeves up and undertook two days of hard labour at the city's Percy Hedley School for children with cerebral palsy and speech and language difficulties.
They worked along with the pupils to landscape a garden and playground, planting shrubs, designing and painting a mural and creating a mini football pitch.
Last year, Ward Hadaway joined Business In The Community, an organisation which aims to promote socially responsible businesses.
Percy Hedley School teacher Sue Fisher said: "The landscaping has really made a difference to the outdoor areas and overall look of the school.
"The children love their new quiet area and the large murals have really brightened up the yard."
