GRANTS are helping a group of young actors stage a show and get a new image.
Willington Youth Theatre is the new name for the Willington Youth Project, which was founded in 1999.
The group has also lowered its minimum age from 11 to eight.
Grants of £8,590 have come from the Local Children's Network Fund and the Single Regeneration Budget Five (SRB5) Community Development Fund and will be put towards new equipment.
A further £500 of SRB5 money will be used to promote the group's image, offer dance workshops and help pay for a script for its latest production, The Fourth Princess.
Willington county councillor Brian Myers has given £100 from his initiative fund.
Auditions will be held at Willington Working Men's Club on Tuesday, between 6.30pm and 8pm.
