YOUNG footballers are set to battle it out in Stockton Borough Council's community wardens' cup final next week.
Rockcliffe Park, Middlesbrough FC's training ground at Hurworth, near Darlington, will play host to youngsters aged between ten and 14 from the Hardwick, Portrack, Albany and Parkfield areas of Stockton on Saturday.
Each team has a warden as manager who has worked to build trust and confidence.
Mick McLone, assistant security manager for the council, said: "Ten teams turned up and fought tooth and nail to finish in the top two of their respective leagues. The commitment by all was tremendous but, unfortunately for some, only the top two could go through."
