TWO people were taken to hospital yesterday after their glider crash-landed in a field and hit a stone wall.
A man was cut from the wreckage by the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Brigade.
The glider came down in the area of Brimham Rocks, between Ripon and Pateley Bridge, at about 3.45pm.
A police spokesman said five other gliders landed in a nearby field to offer help.
The crash victims, one with leg injuries and the other chest and head injuries, were treated at the scene by paramedics, then taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The air accidents investigation branch of the Department of Transport will carry out an inquiry with the British Gliding Association.
