TWO seafront restaurant workers are to get bravery awards for rescuing a drowning man in a resort's harbour.
Manager Richard Johnson and cook Richard Jones, of The Golden Grid, in Sandside, Scarborough, have each been honoured by the Royal Humane Society (RHS).
The man was thought to have been trying to commit suicide when he was spotted struggling in the water and Mr Johnson and Mr Jones dived in to puill him to safety.
RHS secretary Christopher Tyler said: "Though not strong swimmers, the men plunged into the harbour to rescue the man."
The man later recovered in Scarborough General Hospital.
