A MOTORCYCLIST died at the weekend after he lost control of his bike and hit a car head-on.
The 37-year-old, from the Ashington area of Northumberland, was riding east on the C200 Bellingham to Kielder road, on Saturday, when he lost control on a left-hand bend and hit a Citroen Xsara travelling in the opposite direction.
The road was closed for three hours as police carried out an investigation.
Last night, officers appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them on (01661) 872555.
