YOUNGSTERS from east Cleveland enjoyed the sun yesterday as they took part in a summer event.
The third Saltburn Swashbuckle took place in the town with a number of new attractions, including an 18-metre inflatable whale, which was situated in the town's Valley Gardens, and welcomed children into its belly for an undersea world of entertainment.
There was also magic shows, balloon modelling, arts and crafts and a chance to try circus skills.
Live music and performances took place outside the Smugglers Heritage Centre and Ship Inn.
On the beach, there was Punch and Judy shows, sand castle competitions and flag designing. The day was organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's events team.
