AN arts plan has been adopted in Hambleton to deliver events and exhibitions to adults and children.
The impact of the scheme is already being felt in the area, with two public exhibitions held recently in Easingwold and Stokesley and a range of art-based children's activities taking place in the summer.
Hambleton District Council's cabinet adopted the plan, called Creative Opportunities, to help provide opportunities for artists and to make existing arts services more accessible to the public.
Councillor Neville Hux-table, spokesman for leisure and tourism, said: "The arts make an enormous contribution to quality of life in the district and can assist with improving the economy, the environment and both physical and mental wellbeing."
