Tow Law Station slipped four points behind the leading Esh Stag's Head when they went down in the decider against the visiting Esh McKennas. The home side made a good start with a win from Paul Graham but then McKennas had wins from Joe Starr, Dave Trepte, Colin Leigh and Alan Hennigan before Sean Kenny took the final singles for the Station. The home side then levelled the match by taking the first two doubles but McKennas went to victory when Colin Leigh and Alan Hennigan won the decider against Tony Brennan and John Campbell.
Tow Law New Market A moved up to share third place with Sunniside Comedian with an odd point victory over the visiting Tow Law Rose and Crown, which was brought about by a complete recovery in the doubles. The Market had singles wins from Gary Parker and John Parkin, whilst Christine Rand, Dorothy Mowbray, Steve Morris and Alan Spence put the visitors one short of victory. However the visitors failed to score a point in the doubles and went down by the odd point.

Crook League
Crook Royal Sun lost ground on the First Division leaders, Crook Belle Vue when they only took two points from their visit to Crook Coach and Horses A. The Coach had singles points from Phil Tobin, Paiul Fiddis, Tut Lee and Arthur Martin with Fiddis and Martin adding the doubles. Only Cliffy Johnson and Kenny Smith scored points for the Royal Sun, who are now six points behind Crook Belle Vue but have a match in hand. Crook Travellers Rest B are in third place, four points behind the Royal Sun.
Hunwick Club only dropped two points on their visit to Crook Golden Fleece A but it meant that their lead at the top of the Second Division was cut to one point as Willington Brewer's Droop only dropped one point to the visiting Croft Social Club. The Brewer's have a match in hand and lead the Spitfire Club, Coach and Horses B and King's Head, who share third place, by seven points.
Crook Golden Fleece A had singles wins from Chris Leigh and Stephen Fairgrieves whilst the visiting Hunwick Club went to victory with singles wins from David Thompson, Paul Maddison, Dave Robson and Ian Richardson with Robson and Maddison adding the doubles.

Itop of the table clash Tow Law Football Club earned their top place when they beat the visiting Newhouse Club in the decider. Jim day put the footballers ahead but then the visitors' had wins from Graeme Thompson and Mike Starr. Terry Ginty squared the match and then Arthur Henderson took the Football Club to victory by beating Ian Dinsdale.
This took the Football Club two points clear of Newhouse Club, with Tow Law Dan's Castle B moving two points behind the Club following their win in the decider against Tow Law Rose and Crown. David Murray put the Castle ahead only to see Anthony Ward and Gavin Hammell push the visitors in front. John Spencer levelled the match and the Castle landlady, Angela Suddes beat Richard Charlton in the decider.
