Lady Luck certain didn't shine on Spennymoor CC who were top of the Darlington and District A Division. On the Friday evening before their fixture with Cockerton CC a fire gutted their equipment shed destroying four mowers and other valuable equipment.
The following day they batted first against Cockerton and seven batsmen collected ducks while two were run out before they were dismissed for 40 runs. Cockerton won by six wickets.

Cleveland Bridge CC win the Egglestone Cup for the first time beating Great Smeaton by 53 runs. Ken Tait and Norman Race put on 69 match-winning runs for Cleveland Bridge while David Horley five wickets for 31 and Bill Scarr four wickets for 30 runs bowled Great Smeaton out.

Everyone loves a sportsman who makes a comeback and neither Harome CC bowler John Marwood or Stokesley CC wicket keeper David Fall let their supporters down.
Marwood, who had not played cricket for ten years, was brought on to bowl by Harome against High Farndale CC and took three wickets for 21 runs. His final two deliveries brought him two wickets which left everyone wondering when he would appear next to attempt hat trick.
David Fall missed the whole of the 1992 season and made his comeback in the Stokesley CC second team hitting 100 not out against Richmondshire CC. The following week he did even better scoring 106 runs for Stokesley II against Northallerton III.
David Murdoch turns in a magnificent performance for East Harlsey CC when he takes all ten Chopgate CC wickets for just 26 runs in a Langbaurgh West Rural League fixture.
John Leadbitter clean bowls six batsmen on his way to taking eight wickets for 26 runs against Hartlepool CC in the final of the Jarvis Cup. Leadbitter playing for Marton Way CC also picked up the man of the match award.
