A SCULPTURE created by a North-East artist is to be unveiled in Scotland this month.
Lee Brewster, who owns LJB Designs in Hurworth, near Darlington, has designed a work of art called the Salmon Run which has been commissioned by Perth council and Perthshire Public Arts Trust.
The ten metre-long piece depicts the struggle faced by salmon in Perth's Tay river and will be displayed in the city's Tay Street.
It is made of stainless steel and will double as a riverside seat.
Mr Brewster has designed several public artworks across the UK, including a piece for the paediatric ward at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
He said: "The Perth project has been ongoing for about two years as we needed to carry out a community consultation.
"It takes a couple of the years to develop the design and plan it.
"I have really enjoyed working on the piece and it is due to be unveiled in Perth at the end of August."
Profix Steel Fabrications in Darlington has helped Mr Brewster make the design.
A council spokesman said: "Perth and Kinross council and the Perthshire Public Arts Trust are pleased that the sculpture in the Tay Street public art project is coming to fruition." For more details log on to www.ljbdesigns.co.uk.
