Castle Eden Under-18s finish 2nd in the Durham Coast League with Seaham Park taking top spot. Captain John Spellman Junior has excelled all season with the bat Wayne Glaister, Richard Ede with the ball and LJ Brown has had a good season with both bat and is the top wicket taker with ball. John Spellman Junior and Richard Ede have been regular participants in the league team and LJ Brown with the Under-21s. The Under-11s finished their season in a very respectable third place in their first season with a defeat at home to Silksworth. Silksworth batted first and scored 66 for seven of their 20 overs. Captain Mark Rufferty, Lee Greener, Michael Robson, Ryan Kelly and Daniel Jarvis all took a wicket each and some great fielding from JB Middleton, Phil Winpenny, Matthew Cook, David Cowey, Liam Wintrip, excellent wicket keeping from Christopher Noble and the fantastic catch from Gareth Elliott put Silksworth under a lot of pressure but it was not enough as Silksworth showed what a good side they are with a very professional display from their bowlers and especially their fielders. Castle Eden were all out for just 44 Michael Robson top scoring with 12. The Under-15s were involved in a very good game at home to Boldon. Castle Eden batted first with Captain Christopher Tudball, 17 and Jonathan Brown, 13 and Jonny Malkin carrying his bat again for an unbeaten 28 finishing on 74 for four. Boldon were put under pressure losing early wickets but eventually got through to 76 for six with Jonny Malkin, Keith Baily and Ross Kirtley taking double wickets. Keith and Ross were both picked for the Under-13s league side against the Tyneside senior league and Christopher Tudball was picked for the Under-15 league side. The third team won away to Dawdon.
