TWO wheelchair users had a chance to learn how to get the most out of their chairs at a special course.
Jackson Galuidi, four, and Luke Kennedy, ten, learned how to get down a flight of stairs in an emergency and back-wheel down kerbs safely, as well as how to play basketball and British bulldogs at Sacred Heart School, in Redcar.
Course organiser Roy Wild, therapy manager for the Association of Wheelchair Children, said: "We had two new wheelchair users on the course who really progressed very well and their mums, dads and Luke's little sister even had a go.
"We were quite disappointed that only two wheelchair users came to the course, but we are still planning to come back to the area in the next six to eight months."
Anyone from the North-East who would like to find out more about the charity, or arrange a free course for manual or electric wheelchairs, can contact Mr Wild on (0870) 121 0055.
