LANDMARKS and historic sites on Tyneside open their doors to the public for free next month.
Tyne and Wear Heritage Open Days take place from Friday, September 12 to Monday, September 15. This year, there are more than 110 buildings open for tours and talks celebrating the history of the North-East.
Last year saw 20,000 people visit 84 properties.This year events include a trip through the Tyne Tunnel and a tour around Souter Lighthouse, in South Tyneside.
In Gateshead, there will be a Blaydon Races and Joseph Cowen walk.
