A TASTEFUL copy of a famous city landmark is on display in a restaurant at a North-East arts centre.
Constructed entirely out of pretzels, the replica of Newcastle's Tyne Bridge is being exhibited at McCoys Rooftop Restaurant, in the Gateshead Baltic centre.
Originally commissioned by Union Snacks, in Tanfield Lea, County Durham, the bridge was produced by students at Newcastle College, using 3D model design.
The 2m bridge is made from more than 130 bags of pretzels.
Restaurant general manager Michael Robinson, said: "The pretzel Tyne Bridge is certainly becoming a talking point among our customers and is already generating quite a bit of interest.
"As you come up in the lift to McCoys Rooftop Restaurant, it's an amazing sight to see the pretzel bridge with the real one in the background."
Kim McKie, of Union Snacks, said: "The restaurant was the perfect choice for the bridge to be exhibited.
"Not only do you have the food and North-East link, but also a direct comparison with the original as the view is so amazing."
